Flood photos: Water carry-on in Reading

A little late, perhaps, but here are some pictures taken in Reading after it really, really poured last Friday (the above was snapped at the Overdown Road/Kentwood Hill roundabout in Tilehurst - a lady can be seen gingerly crossing the flooded road):
- Water sloshes about as cars approach a flooded Overdown Road/Kentwood Hill roundabout
- Traffic grinds to a halt at the same roundabout (check out the 2 4×4 vehicles - they don’t look so bad now)
- A flooded Oracle riverside, though this actually occurs several times a year (it happened earlier this year already)

I’d heard that Overdown Road had flooded, but hadn’t believed it. As I live higher up the hill, if my house gets flooded there won’t be much of England let alone Reading left.

Hi Drew, I saw images of flooded Pangbourne the other night on a regional news programme. Unbelievable. More heavy rain is expected this weekend. I thought, back in April, that we were going to have a record-breaking summer. We’re getting it alright, though not the records I was hoping for!

Hi Terry, it’s enough to give you that sinking feeling
Great Reading FC blog, by the way. Can’t believe that Kingsley was beaten by a pair of hippos! So much for the king of the jungle…
How well do you think Reading will do next season?
