Happy fifth birthday, Reading Roars!
I’m cringing. Red-faced at the sight of the very first entry posted on this blog, dated Sunday 18 July 2005 (you will have to find it yourselves). Yes indeed, this blog is now five years old. Remarkable.
But will it last another five? I hope so. I hope to blog again as before (I’m convinced that blogging adds years to your life). The challenge is how, and what exactly to write about. The reason? My location: I have been away from Reading and indeed the UK for almost one year.
Thoughts, suggestions and of course birthday wishes are welcome. And if there are any Malaysian or Singaporean readers who wish to find out more about Reading, please get in touch!

Matt
Bit of a long shot but here goes
I saw a post of yours from a couple of years ago about the Blagrave Arms in reading, a couple of your friends had just taken it over. A few years down the line I’m now negotiating with trust inns myself about taking over this pub. But with a succession of landlords lasting less than a year I’m sceptical as to how much truth there is in what they’re telling me. before sinking thousands of pounds into the business I’d really like to speak to someone that has dealt with this company, and pub, before. If you could put me in touch or just get me some feedback on their experience would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Sam, I will reach out to the former landlord (from a couple of years back) and get back to you. Perhaps you could then email him to ask about his experience.
