Reading bar seeks Fezlift

Reading’s chain bars continue to evolve. Changes have been made to student favourite Pavlov’s Dog and Bar 38, or whatever it’s called now has closed with Ivory Lounge taking its place. Now, The Fez is planning a revamp, says the Evening Post.

An application has been submitted to Reading Borough Council for kids to be allowed in before 9pm (when accompanied by an adult). Fez owner Ecletic Bars also plan to serve food downstairs (couscous? burgers?) and to change their facade.

This all sounds good to me (Electic’s Po Na Na also needs a bit of a refresh, in my opinion), the food bit in particular (let’s have more food in bars, and I don’t mean Nobby’s Nuts!).

In another bar development, Revolution is now offering free wi-fi service for customers (something that the Global Cafe has been doing for months). This is a good move. Paying a hefty £6 per hour elsewhere (on top of a £2 cup of coffee with foam) is an act of madness.

There’s also free wi-fi in the 3Bs, although I think it might just be because the Town Hall hasn’t worked out how to secure its network LOL!
