Reading’s premier moments

BBC Berkshire is inviting readers to submit their magic moments from Reading FC’s sparkling first season in the Premiership (despite that the season isn’t over yet).

It’s a tricky one, but the “moment” I’d suggest has to be Reading’s recent comeback against Man United (who are excelling domestically and in Europe this season) at the Madejski. What a fight. Something that Roma were not able to achieve last night, in response to a similar onslaught.

Afterthought: it was an FA Cup, rather than league, game. Can we bend the rules a little?

Technically the page says: “We’re asking you for your personal memories from Reading’s historic first season in English football’s top flight.”

So on the grounds that the FA Cup game took place during that season (and conveniently ignoring any references to the Prem on the rest of the page), I’d say it counts.

Excellent! I’d also add Reading’s 2-2 draw with Mourinho’s lot at Stamford Bridge and Leroy Lita’s winner against Middlesbrough to give Reading 3 points on their Premiership debut!

Definitely the Middlesbrough game for me, for the sheer sense of “hang on, we can do this” after the initial “oh crap, this is going to be a long season”.
