Hello
Please may I invite your blog visitors to join my campaign to improve the rail service currently provided by First Great Western? I am giving out badges bearing the phrase "I Hate First Great Western" to try and spread the word to the company that we're not terribly pleased with the way they're running things right now. It's also a place to have a good rant when things go wrong, and find out some fascinating facts about the way the system works, or, rather, doesn't. And Reading Station is a major part of the problem it seems. Please visit www.ihatefirstgreatwestern.blogspot.com.
Many thanks

Reading station should be a beacon to the world saying: "Hello, I am Reading Station. CHOOOOO CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!"

Yep, agreed. It's scruffy and small. I wish we had a station designed by Calatrava. I wish we had a clock, even. Then again, I don't think it's just our station which is a problem. Our rail industry in general is (still) achingly bad, in my opinion. I experienced a number of problems when catching a train from Feltham to Reading last week, including yet another delayed train (a technical fault, apparently). incompetent staff and anti-social behaviour. Things can only get better?

The thing that concerns me is how untidy it all looks. The station is the first view of Reading that many visitors get. Over the last 10 years or so the concourse area of the station has become significantly more cluttered and scruffy.
