Lots of coffee posts on this blog at the moment, just thought I would chime in with my 2p's worth.

I lived in Reading until last year, then moved to Wellington, NZ... Man, they love their coffee here! There is a Starbucks in Welly (natch - they are everywhere) but the locals largely shun it and prefer to buy their coffee from one of the many independantly-owned cafes / coffee bars. You can't walk more than a few paces without passing somewhere that sells coffee, I have no qualms about trying a random cafe here - when I was in the UK I tended to stick to Costa because it was the best of a bad bunch.

In the office where I work, there is even a proper espresso machine where staff can make their own - soooo much better than the nasty vending machine I had to put up with when I worked at the Pru!

That was probably Estima. A Fairtrade latte's not a bad idea.

A post on Fairtrade coffee appeared on Guardian Unlimited only a few days ago: http://commentisfree.guardian.co.uk/harry_phibbs/2008/02/fair_or_fashionable.html
